The members of Orgy, Jay Gordon (vocals), Amir Derakh (guitar-synths), Ryan Shuck (guitar), Paige Haley (bass), and Bobby Hewitt (drums); have described their music as "Death Pop" in the past, but few agree on what to call their interesting blend of rock, metal, and electronica. The band was formed in 1997 and signed to Korn's Elementree record label soon after. They quickly released their first album, "Candyass." Soon after, they performed the duty of opening act on the Family Values tour in '98 where they were introduced to many, for the first time. Around this same time, they had their first hit with a cover of New Order's "Blue Monday", followed with successful singles for "Stitches" and "Fiction (Dreams in Digital)." After the release of their second album, "Vapor Transmission", they left Elementree records, and largely disappeared from the public eye. Bobby briefly joined Snake River Conspiracy for a while and Jay formed his own independent record label, D1 Music, with his father.

The Odyssey Lyrics

Orgy

the odyssey:
what would you do if you finnaly belived inyour self,
but you just dont know, your ass from a hole in the ground,
so true its a violation,
hide your self from the same old memories,
your image is your invatation,
theres no time for sleep so mother fucker come on,
chorus:
welcome to the odyssey,
welcome to the odyssey,
welcome to the odyssey,
welcome to the odyssey,
passing through a black whole in the sky,
from the 30th centery,
so you feel like me,
you traded in your high school ring to get away from the pom pom boys, and the
jock strap girls,
yea give me the super pill to make things better,
yea give me the super pill to make every thing alright,
chorus:
welcome to the odyssey,
welcome to the odyssey,
welcome to the odyssey,
welcome to the odyssey,
the odyssey,
the odyssey,
the odyssey,
you've been driven by your faceless personality,
and your image is you own facelees odyssey,
chorus:
come on welcome to the odyssey,
welcome to the odyssey,
welcome to the odyssey,
welcome to the odyssey,
welcome to the odyssey,
welcome to the odyssey,
welcome to the odyssey,
welcome to the odyssey,
the odyssey,
the odyssey,
the odyssey,
the odyssey.
